My Integrative, Holistic Approach combines both traditional and alternative therapies within the framework of a Christian Counseling perspective with emphasis on healing the Soul, Spirit and Body.
Anxiety is stressful and creates a general lack of ease and peace of mind. It’s the nagging fear of failure, inadequacy, fear of the world, and worry that also causes physical discomfort such as dizziness, rapid heartbeat, sweating, muscular aches and pains, insomnia, irritability, hyperventilation, various illnesses, and fatigue as the body reacts to higher cortisol levels produced by the fight, flight or freeze impulses in the adrenal glands from this stress.
If you are experiencing anxiety you know how it can be debilitating in varying degrees and cause devastating effects to your concentration at work and play, your sex life, your sleep, your peace of mind, your ability to feel comfortable and confident in social situations, your self-esteem and your ability to sustain your relationships in healthy ways.
Here are a few tips to help you identify the source of your anxiety followed by some highly-effective treatment strategies I will use to help you alleviate it and unlock your hidden potential and produce positive, life-changing results.
Circumstantial Anxiety comes on frequently unabated by what you know to do for your situation. If you are feeling overwhelmed by an unresolved situation in your life that feels more demanding than your resources for coping with it, anxiety will certainly be a result. All of us want to feel in control of our lives and when life gives us challenges that make us feel out of control, then anxiety raises its ugly head.
Unconscious Traumatic Memories and Unconscious Conflict are also sources of anxiety that can make your life feel miserable. When they are at work beneath the surface of your conscious mind, you will feel varying degrees of anxiety in a more generalized manner. Essentially, the anxiety is ever-present and fluctuates over time, perhaps throughout your days or over larger spans of time. This form of anxiety acts as an unconscious, internal driver and frequently produces self-sabotaging, compulsive behaviors and addictions.
Neural Chemical Imbalances in the brain can also be a source for anxiety that isn’t quickly relieved by a change of circumstances. This type of anxiety is directly attributed to deficiencies of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc., and / or brain injuries due to previous emotional or physical trauma or substance abuse addictions. These imbalances can be healed with the right kind of treatments.
Separation Anxiety can also be a source of painful anxiety when you lose someone you love. Grief can feel emotionally disabling for a time as you struggle to regain a sense of personal balance without your loved one. In the aftermath of a significant loss, you may feel denial, anger, betrayal, desperation, emptiness, loneliness, and depression as you attempt to work through the pain and heal yourself. Separation anxiety can linger for years after a loss and many times is a hidden unconscious factor in anxiety.
Learning Disorders can also be a source of anxiety. Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder will certainly take a toll on your life in a number of ways effecting your concentration at work, your finances, learning, peace of mind, self-esteem, and your relationships.
Shame, Guilt & Fear of Intimacy in your relationships also produce anxiety and cause lack of connection and fulfillment in them. They’re also contributors to relationship conflicts – emotionally and sexually.
Performance Anxiety is caused by the pressure to perform adequately and is frequently experienced by those who are faced with pubic performances such as public speaking, singing or acting. Men sometimes have performance anxiety when it comes to sexual intimacy and experience erectile dysfunction as a result of it.
Panic Attacks are anxiety at its extreme. Sweating, a racing heart and pain in the chest frequently makes people believe they are experiencing a heart attack, when in reality its a panic attack.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder occurs after a traumatic event in a person’s life and is often accompanied by hypervigilence, obcessive thoughts and nightmares. The brain stores traumatic memory within the neuropathways, the emotions, and the sensory or cellular memory of the body.
10. Social Anxiety plagues many people as they feel extreme discomfort and shyness in the presence of strangers, co-workers and sometimes even friends and family. Generally, there is a feeling of inadequacy, not being good enough, not knowing what to say or do, fear of appearing stupid, fear of doing or saying the wrong thing.
If you are experiencing anxiety due to any of the above reasons, I can help you to heal them and find new vitality and better functioning within yourself and your relationships, so you can live a better, more enjoyable life.
Accurate identification of your anxiety is important to resolving it and helping you to move forward in your life in healthier ways. In my private practice I utilize several means of identification of the source of anxiety and then follow up with the appropriate forms of treatment to best serve my clients.
I jumpstart the entire healing process with a highly effective, Brain Functioning Assessment developed by a world-renowned neuro-psychiatrist that helps me evaluate the neuro-chemistry issues in the brain. Once I have this information, I can make recommendations for the appropriate natural supplements, dietary changes and exercise to correct the issues and bring a high degree of relief to my clients based on the doctor’s recommendations.
Next, I look for possible unconscious or conscious issues that need to be brought to the surface for healing. This can be done in the intake session and through subsequent therapy sessions. These unconscious memories and / or conflicts can be resolved by the use of some cutting-edge, scientifically validated therapies – EMDR, EFT, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Bio-Energetic Healing, Conscious Breathing, and Meditation.
As I help my clients with these various treatment strategies, they experience
