It happened one night in my late twenties that I heard God call my name as I was sleeping. I awakened and listened. Again, He called my name. It was an audible voice both times and the second time I heard it I sat up in my bed and listened for more words from God.
Amazed by the presence of God and a brilliant white light that surrounded me I was calm, yet my heart was racing with excitement because of my experience with His divine presence. He told me He wanted to use me to help people and that my life was going to change. At the time, I didn’t understand what He meant. I was still trying to take it all in and feeling overwhelmed by what He was saying to me.
As time went by, I heard more from God about what He was calling me to do with my life. Eventually, I accepted His calling to help others heal and have better lives. This acceptance of God’s calling on my life lead me to seminary to study what I needed to learn to fulfill it. It also led me into more of my own healing work in therapy.
I believe strongly that the best therapists are those who have done their own inner healing work and because of their personal growth, they hold a place of integrity and deep wisdom with their clients as they heal and move forward in their lives. My life has taken on a very special meaning as I continue daily to respond to God’s calling on my life. My relationship with God, my response to His calling, my family, and friends have made my life worth living.
As I work with my clients, I pay attention to the whispers I hear from the Holy Spirit about my clients and their needs. Many times He gives me a direct message for them, or guides me to an area that needs deeper exploration with them for their healing. These messages always come from His love for them. Often more messages come through as I pray with my clients.
I believe the positive impact I have had on the lives of others in my service to approximately 6000 clients in 28 years of ministry and private practice has made a collective difference in the world, and this difference is my passion for my work. It is why I came here – to fulfill God’s calling on my life to help others heal, find their purpose in life and move forward to step into the divine destiny God has for their life.
When one is wounded and overwhelmed, there is barely enough energy to take care of the self, therefore healing is imperative for all of us in order for God to work through us effectively and with the utmost service to Him in the world.
Our excellence in the world as we represent God also depends upon our close relationship with Him. It is through my relationship with God that I find my joy in living life and the strength and courage to continue moving forward through difficult times.
